

Meg Tipper is a teacher and writer. She is currently retired after 30 years of teaching, the last 15 years teaching English and running the Tickner Writing Center at Gilman School. Like her daughter, Meg is a graduate of Bryn Mawr School. She went on to receive her undergraduate degree at Skidmore College and her masters and doctoral degrees at Teachers College, Columbia University. She has previously published stories, poems, essays, and magazine and professional articles.
In retirement, Meg travels extensively with her partner, Jim Himel. Meg and Jim also own and operate a tree farm.

In addition to her daughter, Maggie, Meg has a son, Stephen. Stephen has taught math at Newton North High School outside of Boston for seven years. Currently he is on a leave of absence while he spends the winter in Colorado volunteering for the disabled skiers program at Winter Park ski area.
